Workday Rising 2024 followed through on this commitment by offering industry-specific sessions, including Day 2’s Workday Student: Strategy and Vision session.

Geared toward the industry, this session explored the latest innovations in Workday Student Management and how universities are leveraging these capabilities to bring value to their campuses.

Workday Student New Region Expansion

With sixty-five institutions live (including the first Canadian institution), Workday Student is now heading to the Southern Hemisphere. Three educational institutions in Australia and New Zealand will work with Workday in an advisory capacity.

4. Workday Global Payroll: Seamless Global Integrations

The Workday Rising session Taking Global Payroll Management to the Next Level with Workday Global Payroll focused on Global Payroll Connect (GPC), Workday’s solution to streamline global integration for payroll.

Available for purchase October 11, the GPC SKU serves as a superset of Cloud Connect for Third Party Payroll (CCTPP). It offers exciting new features to reduce complexity and elevate global payroll for an improved customer experience.

A Unified Global Payroll Solution

With the new hub, users can monitor and manage payroll in Workday for global and native payroll.

Employees and managers can now enter third-party data directly into Workday, including pay slips and other payroll-related documents.

Inbound and Outbound Notifications

Receive notifications from and send them to third-party payrolls.

5. What to Expect From Workday 2024R2

Targeted for Workday Payroll admins, the session What’s New: Workday Payroll for North America highlighted the new features rolled out with Workday 2024R2, as well as more exciting developments on the horizon.

Here are just a few of the capabilities on Workday’s current roadmap:

Allocate Net Pay Liability

As a massive win for payroll accounting, Net Pay Liability will now automatically split net pay journal lines by distribution of earnings, reducing manual efforts.

Payroll Prompt Recommendations

This 2024R2 feature enables faster selection of information through machine learning prompt recommendations.

Add Payroll Input on Pay Results

With this functionality’s new intuitive and simplified design, you can add input on any pay result with just one click.

Lock Payroll for Auditing

As part of the 2025R1 release, this capability will simplify the auditing process. It will provide flexibility to choose to recalculate results or leave a pay-impacting event for the next retro calculation.

Payroll Calculation Trace

Another feature coming in 2025R1, the Payroll Calculation Trace can track how and why something is calculated in payroll, increasing productivity.
