Beyond Go Live: Preparing for the Workday 2021R2 Update
With the calendar shifting from July to August, it is time once again for the latest release update from Workday. 2021R2 is set to deploy in September to all active Workday tenants. Whether this is your first of fifteenth Workday update, you have a lot of work cut out for you. From up taking new functionality to ensuring any deprecated tasks will not impact the day-to-day operation of your organization, here at ERPA we are prepared to guide you through the steps you need to perform to be ready for the upcoming Workday release.
Review Upcoming Updates
You may already be familiar with the What’s New in Workday report available in your tenant as well as the Release section of Workday Community. These are great resources to check for what is coming in September as part of 2021R2. Workday provides extensive documentation on each and every release coming to you in the next update with in-depth looks into how each new function works.
Internally Discuss Features and Plan Rollout
If you haven’t started planning yet, it is not too late to gather the Subject Matter Experts within your organization and review the steps you will need to take in advance of the September rollout. Ensuring that you are ready for September means you should start reviewing and testing now in the weeks leading up to the release.
Back Up Preview Tenant
Workday will refresh your Preview tenant leading up to the new release coming in early September, so any testing, reports, or other configuration you have been doing should be backed up prior to that refresh. Taking exports or migrating your configuration to your Production tenant should be done soon to avoid losing any of your hard work.
While all those steps may already feel like a lot, you don’t need to stress about it. Our Workday team at ERPA understand that time is a precious resource for your organization, and we have created a Dashboard within Workday that puts all of the aforementioned steps into one single location. With an integrated checklist and functionality built to streamline your adoption of these new features, our Dashboard is easily the best method for you to be ready for each Workday release.
